“domain names themselves just don’t matter that much nowadays”

Not posting that often, but definitely keeping up with my domain news. Read this interesting article today that says:

domain names themselves just don’t matter that much nowadays. Web browsers have gotten a lot smarter since the 1990s, and they’re now pretty good at determining what we want when we type in names that have many possible meanings.

and

cybersquatting isn’t a problem anymore

Definitely agree. Although browsers have gotten “smarter” there is a TON of money+potential in domain names due to branding.

Domains names are NOW especially important in the non-english speaking world. IDNs will be important this next half of 2009 and onwards…

Well, domain names are important, of course. And it is important to use a domain name that the site’s visitors remember. It is also a way of identifying one’s self on the net.

I feel that domain names are very important not just to have your own email and such but it gives off a prfessional presentation in large corporate companies.

Domain names matter greatly for both user and search engine. People spend a lot of money on certain domains just to get started – the best one i know is Gurgle – a baby site and nice play on Google!

I am not agree really because Domain used in Past and it is also use in current and it is also use in future. Actually it demand are so high. So domain is also shows what is actual and what is virtual.
