Microsoft’s Bing – New Video About Bing Search Engine

A bit bored today, so I was looking over TechCrunch’s weekly articles and stumbled upon an article about Microsoft with a link to Bing.com.
Forget full article and go straight to bing website to watch video.
For those that do not know yet, Bing.com is Microsoft’s next main-stream search engine. Live.com will be re-branded as Bing.com. They are getting away from their old brands and just want to be a bigger competitor to Google’s search engine. It’s going to be a tough mission, but hell, I’ve caught myself numerous times searching Live and Yahoo… but Google is always “the one”… so I’m going to be really interested in how new search engines like “bing” will perform. Give me decent search results and I’ll use it.
OK, moving on… I clicked a link to bing.com and they actually updated the site to reflect the new logo and a video explaining “Why Bing”. WATCH IT! Sort of interesting and definitely exciting. The only problem? After watching the Google Wave video, Google is just a super creative company. Seriously. Watch the video. They really do deserve it, even though I hate their monstrous take-over of the internet. OK No more Google… back to bing. Well, the bing video looks kind of neat, and Microsoft has the power to build the brand, so let’s see what they do with it. Assuming they don’t screw this up, I can see people using bing to find products, tickets, movie times, or product reviews. That’s probably where bing is looking to compete with Google on (my opinion after watching the video)… and that’s probably a good thing. The layout looks somewhat “cool”, so can’t wait for this to be released and see how some of my sites rank on it. I currently have some “stellar” rankings on Live.com… don’t want to lose those!

I think we’ll just have to wait an see. Personally, I think no. Google is far too advanced as a search company to even be dented at this point. Definitely possible, but unlikely.
