“Create Headline” Now Added To Domaining.com

Posted on | April 7, 2009 | 7 Comments

Domaining.com just recently (possibly even SUPER recently–to the tune of a couple minutes) just released a new feature named “Create Headline.” You can now publish different domaining articles on the site–assuming that credentials are met.

From the site:

CREATE A HEADLINE

It’s free to create an headline if you have the credentials, and it’s the case.
Your new headline will be immediately published and visible in our latest news.

This is an extremely helpful feature to further domaining news at domaining.com. I encourage those to promote interesting articles regarding domains, online revenue, and more using this feature.

My recommendation is to maybe incorporate a system like Reddit.com has adopted in the last few days–on where links are checked in the system so there aren’t duplicate entries. I’ve noticed a lot less duplicate news on Reddit ever since, so it is definitely promoting a more interesting atmosphere.

I’m also noticing that the font colors/styles are changing constantly on domaining.com right now, so pictures may not reflect the latest update:

create

publish… the benefits of being up late! First report on this… woo hoo.

In fact this feature was available for months… :)

The publish was one of the options of the site menu [NEWS | PUBLISH | VALUATE | MARKETPLACE...]

It was in the TODO list to move it from the menu because pulish is only one of the possible sub-menus of the NEWS section.

And Yes the “CREATE A HEADLINE” link has been removed after a pair of hours online and replace by a “PUBLISH” button because the link was using a lot of space.

Hopefully this will promote more articles regarding domaining that have been covered up online!

It’s a great feature… if it was there before, hopefully this will cause more awareness.

Thanks for the comment, Francois! I was hoping I’d get a post about this feature before Yofie, LOL! :) !

Well, I get the opportunity of your post to tell this change has been done today after our decision to lower the cost of sponsored headlines to $60/day for everybody ($20 discount).

Sounds very cool. I’m not quite sure how to use it yet but I’m sure a bit of tinkering will help.

Looks like you now login and click “Publish” to submit the headline.

    Thanks for the post.

    You makes me smile:
    Yes you are lucky!
In fact Jamie is busy these last days comenting Estibot features.
    He cannot be everywhere :)

Regarding new stuff that was not announced:

There was a Twitter pane in our homepage.
    It has been dropped.
A full page has been dedicated now to this feed, with a larger number of records:
    http://www.domaining.com/twitter/

In the “Closing Today” pane, has been added the GoDaddy auctions closing today.
Were already present: Sedo, Afternic and Bido.

I left tomorrow for easter so nothing new should be added within the next 10 days.
Now a lot of new stuff is coming after in:
Valuate | Marketplace | Domain Contest.

And sure, you need to be logged to can submit an headline, annyway the option is not visible if you are not logged. No change on this.
