Toys.com Sells For $5,100,000 To Toys R Us!

DirectNavigation.com just mentioned that the domain Toys.com has sold for a final price of $5,100,000 (auction). As a huge toy store across the United States (and various parts of the world), I think this this domain will probably just get forwarded to Toys R Us‘ domain, ToysRUs.com. Maybe not? We’ll just have to wait and see. Time to update the list of the most expensive domains ever sold!

Really nice sale! Considering the fact that the global economy is in a recession it seems a bit high. The again toys.com had a lot of interest. I hope they create a actual website out of it rather then just redirect it.

I was surprised at the final price as well.

Seems a bit much for a domain that they will simply use as a redirector to their main web site.

But then again I’m not in the domain name buying business. :P
