Figured I might as well start getting some of my “2008 statistics” articles out of the way. What I wanted to post was the top 10 domains that sold for the highest prices. Here are the top 10 domains sold through 2008. Remember: these are REPORTED sales!
1. Fund.com $9,999,950
2. DataRecovery.com $1,659,000

Tally up of stats:
6/10 of the domains are .coms. Total: $15,073,950
ccTLDs that made it in top 10: (2) .de, .co.uk, .ca

Thanks for those stats but what I would really like to know is:
What is the all time top 20 domain sales ever and when?
That would be interesting.
Have a great year

These are some very impressive numbers. (Especially close to 10 million fetched by fund.com).
Thanks for sharing. As Mick has pointed it out, do you have numbers for the other domains? It will be interesting to see best sales ever and adjust for inflation.

Hey guys… just finished my research, and there’s a pending post for a little later on today. I posted up a list of a bunch of super expensive domain name sales ($1 mill and up) over the past couple of years, so check back to see it! Hope I got everything in there. I’ll do a little more research just in case and edit if necessary, but there are plenty of domains on there (20+) to drool over.
