Time Warner Cable and Bright Networks Cable Dispute Settled With Viacom: Dora The Explorer Stays!
Posted on | January 1, 2009 | No Comments
So… what happened with the Time Warner Cable and Bright Networks dispute with Viacom? How did it turn out? Are we OKay? You could turn on your TVs to see if the channels still work OR know that “It’s official”. I had some posting regarding the incident about Time Warner Cable customers/Bright Network Cable customers and the dispute these companies had with Viacom over some TV network stations (popular ones), but it’s all done–the channels are here to stay.
The situation with Viacom would have affected some 13.3 million Time Warner Cable subscribers, including in New York state, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Southern California and Texas, and and another 2.4 million subscribers with Bright Networks in Michigan, Indiana, California, Alabama and Florida. But: Dora the Explorer is here to stay. WOOT! I normally wouldn’t post something like this, but with the amount of e-mails I received the last two days from my readers who subscribe to Time Warner/Bright Networks (and had no idea regarding the incident), I figured it would be alright
.
Channels that would have been affected (and had the scrolling text on them for a while that showed information regarding the incident):
Comedy Central; CMT: Pure Country; Logo; Palladia; MTV; MTV 2; MTV Hits; MTV Jams; MTV Tr3s; Nickelodeon; Noggin; Nick 2; Nicktoons; Spike; The N; TV Land; Vh1; Vh1 Classic; and Vh1 Soul
Happy New Years! Time to get some rest!
