I had this whole gibberish post written out about how these sales shouldn’t really give people the impression that regardless of a crappy US economy domain names are still selling strong, but I decided to get rid of it. Sparing you all the extra details, I saw a lot of posts where the titles give off the impression that the selling on domains like SanJuan.com and CR.com for $150,000 means that domain name sales are still going strong. In my opinion, domain name sales AREN’T going strong… when you see names like this being sold, I believe it’s just buyers seeing a really good purchasing opportunity and grabbing it. What would these domain names sell to a person/company who might specialize in, lets say, San Juan travels or some sort of other San Juan related niche? I’m not sure, but it just drove me crazy seeing all these titles on posts where people thought these sales spat on the crumbling US economy. Alright, let’s get to some of my favorites:

SanJuan.com $150,000 – I love geos
HashBrowns.com $7,600 – I love hashbrowns
Budapest.net $7,101 – Once again, a geo
Sex.mu $4,573 – I love sex (added for humor)

I’d definitely have to say not many favorites. Nice to see my top 3 favorites are all already parked! (I think the servers for budapest haven’t been changed since the purchase… I might be wrong, however–but I do know it was a Namejet auction).

Until next week! Thank you, DNJournal for these reports.
