I actually went through a lot of time + money developing some domains back in April/May... and for some odd reasons, those domains actually went BANNED in Google. Till this day I have NO clue why. All I know is I spent a lot of money to acquire the domain names AND to get them developed (with unique content), so development to me is sort of a curse. I actually spent 2 weeks developing one site (that was previously indexed in Google with the parked page site) and after I finished, DISAPPEARED from the index 3 days later. I was seriously going nuts... but I spend 1-2 hours/week checking my domain rankings, and the site is actually back with an increase in traffic. Direct navigation is really what gets me my money, so hearing that it's fading away is sort of bitter sweet. I was actually watching a cousin browse the net last night after Thanksgiving dinner and it seems a LOT of people (especially my dad) go to Google and type in the URL and search for it...
