Sorry Suckers… Shoulda Sold At 33! – Microsoft Doesn’t Want Yahoo No Mo

Yahoo’s been trying to raise stock prices by letting Microsoft know that Microsoft should buy them. Ballmer, Microsoft CEO, says NO. Yahoo! wanted $37/share back in Februaryish when the news was first released about a possible “merger”, but Microsoft wouldn’t pay more than $33. What’s Yahoo’s price today?

Yeah… big hit! Due to economic problems and Yahoo’s lack of any real innovation, their stock has been tumbling. I was considering unloading some cash and picking up some Yahoo stock just in case there was any possiblity of Yahoo and Microsoft one day joining forces, but I’ve decided to put my money elsewhere. Interesting news, IMO. I find it a bit entertaining that Yahoo is running back to Microsoft. I wonder why type of deal they’ll accept for Microsoft to buy them out. $15/share?

This is just a prime example of a company not doing what is best for themselves and their investors. Yes, the deal Microsoft oringinally offered was lower than what they wanted but if you are struggling, as Yahoo should have known they were, this was a good chance to save themselves.
