Jerry Yang – “I believe the best thing for Microsoft to do is to buy Yahoo”

Well, this was an interesting story for me! With recent developments regarding the breakdown of talks between Google and Yahoo, Yahoo! just released this article at 9AM EST this morning.
Now that quasi-white knight Google is out of the picture, Yahoo co-founder and CEO Jerry Yang has some advice for Microsoft: “To this day, I believe the best thing for Microsoft to do is to buy Yahoo.”
I’ve always liked the idea of Microsoft buying Yahoo for some reason. I think the amount of search volume combined with these two together would probably start competitng with Google slowly. I’ve always managed to rank higher in Yahoo/MSN as well (during early development), so getting a site some traffic from this big boys wouldn’t be a problem for me… unless there was some big algo change.
Wish I had some extra cash laying around to buy some Yahoo! stock at ~$11.50!
