Dynadot.com Terminates ‘Grace Deletions’

Argh… the day has finally come–Dynadot.com terminates “Grace Deletions” on July 5, 2008. This means that if you buy a domain… you will have to keep it for a year. No more “Woops… ‘Request Delete For Credit’” and get your credit back and buy another domain.
Kinda sucks, right? Well those who abused the system probably ruined it for all. I haven’t really seen anything on their site other than a couple forum threads about the situation, but it’s supposedly due to the fees that ICANN has been charging (.20cents/domain delete).
Oh well. I remember switching from domainsite.com to dynadot.com when I found out about grace deletions. I screwed up on a couple of domains when buying in bulk and lost like $40ish and got pissed. We’ll see what happens… I’m sure some major customers will start complaining. Kind of a PIA for me also since I’ll buy 10-15 domains and sit on them. If I don’t like ‘em, back to the dumpster. Doesn’t look like that’ll be happening anymore!
