Link Baiting At Its Best - Kobe Bryant Blog Day ??
March 11, 2008
This is going to be a short post about today–”KOBE BLOG DAY.” Received two comments reminding me of what I already knew (Thank you, Sports Tsar) but it had absolutely no correlation to domaining whatsoever so I didn’t even bother… or does it?
Hardwood Paroxysm (your welcome for one more link, although you probably don’t need it) started something called Kobe (Bryant) Blog Day. Today was the first day, and looking at tons of sports blogs today, it seems they got a LARGE amount of attention. “From who?” you might ask…
MVN.com (Most Valuable Network), ESPN.com, the NBA, and tons of bloggeries such as myself.
You know when you make it to the front page of NBA’s website or MVN you did a great job at link baiting. I wonder what kind of SEO benefits they are going to get out of this… HRMMM. If you take a look at the way things went through, it seems like this is probably the most perfect link-bait I’ve seen so far in my “career” as a domainer. Lucky bastards. I’m going to think of a special blog day!
I guess I satisfied my duties as a Los Angeles-ian. I’ve done it–blogged about Kobe Bryant (sort of) on Kobe Blog Day.
Kobe Bean Bryant (born August 23, 1978(1978-08-23) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American All-Star shooting guard in the National Basketball Association (NBA) who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. Bryant is the only son of former Philadelphia 76ers player and former Los Angeles Sparks head coach Joe “Jellybean” Bryant. His parents named him after the famous beef of Kobe, Japan, which they saw on a restaurant menu

ps did you really just link to yourself?
I’ve never heard of Kobe blog day. Interesting, although I don’t think that Kobe deserves his own blog day.
