Jeez. Hope some people saw my previous post. THAT was turning out to be a “rant” post, but I decided to tone it down and just point my points on WHY I DON’T CARE FOR .ASIA. It has nothing to do with anything or if .ASIA is going to be a huge success–just why I [...]

My Take On .ASIA

March 29, 2008 | 2 Comments

I’ve been getting a lot of e-mails and PMs from people asking me about .ASIA. [For those of you living under a rock (or who don't read my blog), .ASIA domains are now up for registration at registrars such as GoDaddy, Moniker, and Dynadot]. In the least offensive way, I think that .ASIA is a [...]

WordPress 2.5, the culmination of six months of work by the WordPress community, people just like you. The improvements in 2.5 are numerous, and almost entirely a result of your feedback: multi-file uploading, one-click plugin upgrades, built-in galleries, customizable dashboard, salted passwords and cookie encryption, media library, a WYSIWYG that doesn’t mess with your code, [...]

http://www.google.com
Google users in the United States will notice today that we “turned the lights out” on the Google.com homepage as a gesture to raise awareness of a worldwide energy conservation effort called Earth Hour. As to why we don’t do this permanently - it saves no energy; modern displays use the same amount of power [...]

Crap. Early warning on ICANN’s fee raises for October ‘08.
“VeriSign to raise registry fees for .com and .net domain names”
The Mountain View, Calif.-based company said the registry fee for .com domain names will increase to $6.86 from $6.42 while the registry fee for .net domain names will rise to $4.23 from $3.85.
Not really a surprise. [...]

Some silly updates for the day:
Rick Latona Take Over:
Rick Latona has taken over Namepros.com, if you haven’t noticed. There’s been a “Rick Latona Take Over” thread. Can entertain you for about 5 minutes if you have nothing better to do. Genius marketing. Genius.
Chitika (I hate typing the name…) Domain Parking:
People have already started to [...]

Quick little report: Chitika now offers a Domain Parking solution for domain owners!
Crazy (in a good way) move by Chitika. I think this is a great start for a ‘revolutionary’ type of domain parking system. Take a look at the darn parking pages below:

Awesome, huh?
In a huge rush to get out of the house right [...]

Here’s a tip to save some money using Paypal’s Mass Pay feature:
I stumble upon a lot of people all the time who does not know how to pay with PayPal’s “mass pay” feature, which only costs $1 in fees, instead of the usual 4%. I will therefore try to write a quick guide on how [...]

Well the .ME Launch schedule has been posted. I figured due to the lack of time to write my rant post on BS issues that have been pissing me off and no real news going around, I’d post the schedule of the .ME tld Launch.
Background Information on .ME:
.ME is the ccTLD for Montenegro (Population [...]

Yet another guest-post from my side exclusively for fka200’s readers
Please do pardon me if this reads like a rant but that is what it actually is. A rant against the naysayers trying to ruin domaining.
I am an avid fan of short domains and I believe they are going to have a glorious future. [...]
