Bodis E-mail Regarding Change of Terms

Posted on | February 27, 2008 | No Comments

Just received an e-mail from Bodis.com regarding an important change of terms.

Dear Member,

We have recently received word from our upstream ad provider, Ask.com, that Google sponsored listings will no longer be syndicated to any partners in Ask’s Domain Parking Partner Channel, which includes Bodis.com, effective February 28th, 2008. We have negotiated several deals with other upstream ad providers to make sure that we are still able to monetize as much traffic as possible. Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean that we will be able to monetize visitors from every country as we are currently able to.

Starting February 28th at 12:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, Bodis.com will be able to monetize traffic from visitors that originate from only these following countries:

Argentina
Australia
Belgium
Brazil
Canada
Denmark
Finland
France
Germany
Hong Kong
India
Ireland
Italy
Japan
Mexico
Netherlands
New Zealand
Norway
Spain
South Africa
Sweden
Switzerland
United Kingdom
United States

If your visitors do not originate from these countries, we will redirect them to the URL of your choice on a per-domain basis. This redirect functionality will be available in your Bodis.com Account Management area starting on February 27th at 06:00 PM EST.

We are currently working on finding ad providers which would support countries not listed above, which would include Poland, Indonesia, Singapore, and alike. Finding the right upstream ad providers for these countries may take us another few days or weeks, if a deal can be reached. If we are able to work out a deal for any of these countries during February 27th, we will send out another emailing informing our members. If Bodis.com works out a deal for any additional countries at any time, we will email our members with the update.

Starting on February 28th at 12:00 AM EST, we will also begin allowing adult-related domain names on our network. Please note that strict guidelines apply when monetizing adult domain names. We do not allow and will not tolerate the use of any custom photos that contain nudity. Any members found monetizing domain names with photos containing nudity will be removed from the parking program without notice.

Sincerely,
Bodis.com Support Team

Pretty straight forward. If you are a Bodis user, this might be a good thing or might be a bad thing. The only thing I suggest is just hanging tight. Without that Google feed… jeez… who knows what is going to happen.

This part is what worries me the most: “Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean that we will be able to monetize visitors from every country as we are currently able to.”

It might mean that some traffic to domains parked at Bodis will mean crap. And crap = $0.00. That’s not good… especially since there are~200 countries in the world. 24/200 = 12% of the worlds countries. 88 countries don’t matter. Hrmmm.

We’ll see what happens. Goodnight!
