AdSense Refusing To Feed Ads To Sites With Content “Largely The Same As Other Sites”

Slicon on Digital Point started a VERY interesting (at least to me) thread regarding AdSense. Basically the thread talks about there being a problem with AdSense servers feeding ads to sites.
Of course if there was anything wrong on my end, I had to chime in:
I’ve been monitoring my AdSense earnings damn close since February 6. It dropped 1/3 of my normal earnings. What’s weird is my traffic is way up overall (not just one site) yet my earnings are WAY down (across different revenue sources).
February is an odd month indeed. Nice to hear this (bad, yet nice to know something may be behind it) news about the AdSense servers. It was an odd drop.
There HAS been a noticeable and abnormal drop in revenue. No clue what was wrong with it, but since there was no official statement regarding the situation, I shrugged it off. The thing is, there’s been a drop overall. Not just with AdSense. Been trying to figure out the problem so I can go to sleep easy again (yes, been losing sleep over this). Traffic is sky-high and records are sky-low? Not sure what’s going on overall, but I’m going to be keyword-optimizing all day today.
Moving on this specific topic, the LAST post I viewed by Webmason is what made me really think WTF? Here’s what was posted from Whypark regarding AdSense issues:
As many of you have noticed, AdSense ads started appearing as blank spaces last weekend for some sites. Many sites have not been affected and continue to show AdSense without issue. Google’s response is that they have started to stop serving ads on selected sites where content is largely the same as other sites in their AdSense network. This is not just an issue that has affected WhyPark, but also other networks and individual sites. We haven’t been able to determine what makes them pick one site over another.
So now AdSense is branding sites? Some sites won’t be able to show AdSense, yet not get banned…? This is a really awkward situation–especially for me. I have no sites with similar content etc. Actually… I do have one arcade site that has had revenue drop. Do I have to sit and change game descriptions now… assuming the game pack I purchased was widely distributed and now causes my AdSense site to fall into the “content is largely the same as other sites” category?
Wow. WTF is going on? As if I didn’t have enough to worry about! I’m going to be seeing what’s going on and what can be done regarding this. It looks like this is targeting MFA sites in a really, really genius way. Scanning the content > then feeding ads. Hrm! Just wondering why all my other revenue sources are down the same 1/3.
EDIT: All sites are properly displaying AdSense. Hrmmmm. Going to try and find some WhyPark sites and see if I can find anything interesting… although I doubt it.

has your eCPM dropped or the number of impressions?
if impressions hasn’t risen in proportion to the rise in traffic, then somethings off.
if you eCPM is down, then its just advertizing budgets getting slashed!
