Blog Networking And Its Importance

You want people to come to your blog? Go to theirs! I think blog networking is just as important as building back links.

A ton of people create new blogs daily. They sit, write, and wait. Wait for traffic from the search engines. They SEO, they link build, they make sure their title tag and H1 tags are squeaky clean. Yep, clean. And they wait. But what to do while you wait? Find blogs in your same niche and bookmark them. See what’s going on in the industry. Comment! Interact! Ask questions. I’m sure everyone has a favorite blog. I visit numerous blogs 2-3 times a day. YES!! 2-3 times a day. Some people just have it. They catch you with their hook and hope that you always keep coming back. Sure a few people don’t take the bait, but if you’re talented enough, most do.

The idea of Blog Networking is you go to other blogs and comment and interact with the person blogging/people leaving comments. To be honest I don’t link build for Fka200.com–hell, not even for my other revenue sites–but I consider commenting on other blogs an important part of my SEO for Fka200.com. I rarely ever check if links are no-follow, but if they are, great! If they aren’t, who cares. At least it’s one more person that’ll check out your site (I’m sure the admin checks the sites when approving the comments).

Waiting for SEO traffic is a pain. I was helping out 2-3 people regarding the traffic to their site, and all I got out of “why isn’t there traffic” is “I’m not patient.” Most of these blogs are 2-3 weeks old… Search engine traffic doesn’t come instantly for new sites. You just need to get trusted by the search engines and you should be good to go. My rule of thumb for SEO is 6 months wait time. If in 6 months your site still has crap traffic… you might want to consider getting another hobby/switching your niche. There’s always the Google Sandbox and other things that might be affecting the natural search traffic to your site, so remember… don’t hold the 6 months wait time against me. Across my sites and experience with development, that has just been around the time where sites start making decent amounts of money (if enough effort is put into the site). In the meantime, check out whats going on with other bloggers in your niche and get to know them. Blog Networking! You’d be surprised at what you can accomplish within 2-3 months of getting to know other bloggers in your same niche. Hell, if you’re good enough, you might make it to their favorites list!
