LLLL.com Investment… Green Light From Me!

Green LightI apologize for the lack of any “real” updates. Been extremely busy getting my renewals together and trying to decide what is going to stay and what gets the boot. Moving on, I want to talk about the current LLLL.com investment craze. Not that my opinion matters much, but LLLL.com investments receive a green light from me. They have proved to be fairly profitable in resale–at least for me. Over the last two months or so I’ve been buying and reselling just to make an extra buck or two to help pay the bills, but wow… they get decent returns (considering I am selling pretty ‘decent’ domains) and are actually matching up tosome of my contextual advertising platforms in terms for revenue and profit.

For those who don’t have any… I suggest trying to pick some up from people who want to unload. You can find, though extremely hard, people who are selling LLLL.com for $12-$15 a pop. Now for them, that’s double reg fee. For you, that’s under $20. Win-Win situation in my eyes because I’m sure that you can make something decent out of the domain if you decide to develop or want to flip. Catching an LLLL.com as of now that are expiring is extremely hard. They get snatched up literally seconds after they drop, so damn… if you go ahead with that, goodluck. Backordering random LLLL.coms for $60 might not be the smartest thing to do at the time. You don’t want to be paying that much for a random domain. If it has meaning yet includes the lower quality letters (Q, X, Y, Z) it might still be worth it. If you backorder and win while all the letters are *premium* letters (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, L, M, N, O, P, R, S, T), then you can make a very nice profit since these domains have appreciated in pricing the fastest and largest.

The main point of this post was to give you my opinion on the LLLL.com. I’ve sold about 40 of them so far and have made an average of 433% profit each. Pretty frickin’ good, right? The LLLL.com though that I choose to buy aren’t random ones, and I love to go after the domains that actually mean something. If you want to start buying, here are a couple links to check out:

1) Reece Berg’s blo: 4letternoob. This blog is filled with information about the current LLLL market and is extremely helpful to those who are looking to just get some information. I’m sure if you need any help with anything he can help as well (nothing like making him do the work for you). I suggest reading around and bookmarking the blog since there is an LLLL pricing guide. You can get an idea of what the market looks like in terms of the prices. Reece doesn’t make up any BS prices also. He takes data and then gets to a conclusion about what the pricing is.

2) TDVR.com provides a look at LLLL sales. You can browse around to possibly get an idea at what your name might be worth. You can also ask for an appraisal at some popular webmaster forums like Namepros, Digitalpoint, and Sitepoint.

All in all, I think LLLL.com are a great investment if bought at the right price. As usual, I wish I had got into them a bit earlier, but didn’t. I let my LLLL.coms drop in August and kinda regret it, but I still have some decent ones. For extra revenue, the flipping continues. AdSense has taken an awkward turn for the worst lately. What I’m doing the remedy the problem is starting an excel sheet for two months (it’s still bearable) and going to compare the days of the month with one another. I want to see if there should be expectations about the days. I think it’ll be an interesting observation. Always good to diversify the sources of income when making money online.
