GMail Vulnerability Fixed… But Check To Be Safe

There was a GMail “Hack” this week. Basically what happened is if you were logged into your Google account and go to a website with a special javascript code, your e-mail could be forwarded to a specified e-mail. You can read the extremely detailed and interesting article about David Airey getting his domain DavidAirey.com stolen due to this hack.
It seems the Google GMail vulnerability has been fixed. What’s the point of this post then? It’s to inform you of this situation and to see if you were infected. How can you find out? Here are the step:
1) Login to your GMail account
2) At the top right hand corner next to where it lists your e-mail address, click on “Settings”
3) In the settings tab, click on the FILTERS tab
4) Make sure that your e-mail is NOT forwarded to any address. If you see an e-mail there that you DIDN’T allow, you have been hacked. Make sure to take appropriate measures to secure any of the information that could’ve leaked. I’d suggest it’s time for a new password… just to be safe.
Although the situation has been fixed, if you were hacked your e-mails are still being forwarded. Just check! It takes no longer than one minute and you can be at ease.
