New AdSense Publishers Aren’t Reading TOS

I’ve been seeing a lot of new comers into AdSense asking really awkward questions. “Can I place ads on a warez forum?” “How does Google know I clicked ads?” “Can I trade clicks?” Seriously. What the F#@$?
It amazes me how people don’t read the guidelines. I posted up an article about How Serious Are You About Making Money this month. If you ARE serious about making real money online, you would know that it’s stupid to sacrifice your account for a couple *extra dollars.* You have the opportunity to make more legit. Now what’s the point of this post? The point is to read the damn Google AdSense guidelines. It really amazes me why people aren’t getting familiar with the TOS since they agreed to following it when they joined AdSense (lost track of what I was writing, just completed a domain sale).
For those who have *questions* even after reading the TOS, e-mail Google. Going on the forums and asking forum members super specific questions may not be the smartest thing. If AdSense allowed one publisher to do something, it doesn’t mean you should do it without asking. Why? Because they got an “OK” letter. If you do it, you have NO PROOF THAT THEY OK’D IT. The other person on the other hand does. If he/she gets banned, they can simply show the e-mail saying that it was OK’d in the past and they are good to go. You won’t be so lucky. Now don’t e-mail the AdSense team with stupid questions like “How Do I Get Traffic?” or “What Can I Do To Increase CTR?” Those are questions that may be appropriate for the forums (or you can ask me… I’m happy to help if I can offer good advice).
Ending this post, I just want to let you know again: Follow the TOS. Get familiar with it to the point where you don’t need to consult to the TOS every 2 seconds. Don’t memorize it, but just understand it. A lot of the guidelines on there are pretty common sense (Don’t trick users into clicking, no nudity, etc.).
