How Serious Are You About Making Money?

How serious are you about making money? Have you ever asked yourself that? Well, focusing on just making dough online, how serious are you? Let’s say you work for a bank. The bank pays you… and you pay your bills. Now the bank has trusted that you don’t steal–they hope that with the opportunity they have given you to make a living with them, you wouldn’t hurt them. OK. Your morals and ethics agree… you don’t want to steal and you want to do your best job because the bank helps pay for your water, gas, food, etc. and in turn you just make sure things go smoothly. It has never crossed your mind to steal from the bank since they have been so good to you. Alright… flip this into an “online job.” You run websites and you have decided to monetize it using Google’s AdSense program. Google has trusted that you will abide by the AdSense Terms Of Service (TOS) and let you use their program to make money online. So why participate in click fraud and/or break TOS?

This has just been a way to common occurance online. In forums such as Digital Point, it seems everyday a new army of fraudsters start websites and try to “click exchange.” Have you ever asked yourself WHY you would participate in such a thing? Let’s say you run a website and are actually getting traffic… but want to make a little more revenue. You ask a friend to click a couple times a day and you think you’re making enough to go watch an extra movie a month + snacks. Is it worth it? Is it really worth getting a permanent ban from good ‘ol Google just because you wanted an extra $20ish bucks a month? I see these stories on forums about being getting wrongfully banned and I’ve seen their sites in the past: websites with nudity, “CLICK ADS PLEASE,” shitty Made For AdSense (MFA) sites, etc. Just blatantly violating AdSense TOS. Now, had that person been familiar with the AdSense TOS would they have broken the rules? I’m not sure; But I do question their seriousness about making money.

You are presented an opportunity to make extra income online. With little effort (lets say you set aside 5 hours/week), you can talk about a favorite niche online. Create a blog. Although I don’t recommend it, get a free blogger account. It takes about 3 months for a new website to start seeing any worthy traffic from search engines. So just set a goal of at least 6 months. If you don’t enjoy it after 6 months, let it go. Some people have the motivation and set aside more than 5 hours a week, and some will claim to work hard trying to make money, but they don’t. All I’m saying is, just ask yourself how serious you are. Some people in other countries have the opportunity to participate making money online. In a week you can make more than a school teacher working hours a day for a month. Why risk being banned over something stupid?

Again, How Serious Are You? Think about it.

Blog update: I think I’m going to be adding some new features to the site soon. I’ve been getting PMs on the forums, but would much rather interact with people on my blog. So, I’m going to try and make that possible/easier.

Sound advice. A few years ago I got a warning from Adsense because a friend thought he was doing me a favor by clicking on the ads. Google was nice enough to allow me to plead my case and since then I have had no problems. No money either but at least I still have the chance to.

Yeah you have to be very careful when sticking to Google’s TOS. You don’t need them shutting your accounts down that would not help in the quest to making money online.
