Google’s Ad Review Center – The Light Shines

Well, I said there were TWO AdSense updates when there really were THREE. So what exactly is the third?

3) Ad Review Center

What exactly is “Ad Review Center?” Basically it’s a way to provide Google AdSense publishers with a little more control over the ads that are shown on their sites. Now, don’t we already have competitive ad filter? Yes. But I think this is a great step to see what exactly is running on your site and whether you want those ads to be shown. I have a feeling this is going to be a big step in getting rid of Made For AdSense (MFA) sites from showing up on the sites of webmasters.

An interesting feature about the Ad Review Center is that advertisers also have a chance to get more targeted sites. When you block a site, you give a reason why you are blocking it:

When you block an ad, you’ll be prompted to select a reason. We’ll share this constructive feedback with advertisers so they can use it to improve the quality and relevance of future ad campaigns.

This hasn’t been rolled out yet, but they say in the next couple months ALL publishers will have this option. I think this is an amazing step at improving Google’s AdSense program. Rock on, Google
