GeoAuction – November 17, 2007 in San Francisco

Today is the “Live & Online Domain Auction” featuring GeoDomains hosted by Moniker. This means that the domains being sold are of a geographical location, such as LISBON.NET, KAZAKHSTAN.NET, and BARCELONA.INFO. A lot of the domains that were accepted are really weird and long. I don’t want to post anything negative about any domains, but take a look at the list here:
http://marketplacepro.moniker.com/auction/detail.html?auction_id=182
You can see that some of the domains listed (245 domains all together) are just super long. A lot of really nice ones are there, such as Africa.info, Europe.info, Islands.info, 213.com (Area code in Los Angeles–I live about 30 minutes away from the nearest 213 area code phone number), and a lot more. If you have nothing to do, browse through the list. I’m going to re-blog about interesting domains sold and how much they went for. For those in San Francisco, California here are the details of where the auction is being held:
Associated Cities GeoDomain Conference
The W Hotel
San Francisco, CA
November 15-17
Live Domain Auction: Saturday, 11/17
Online Domain Auction: Saturday, 11/17 through Wednesday, 11/28
Might be fun to attend. Not sure if there’s an entrance fee, but it would be interesting to see some of the premium names being sold for big amounts of money live. If anyone picks up any of the domains, comment here. I’d be really interested in finding out which domains + future plans.
I think we will easily see sales of $xxx, xxx at this auction. One that I’m predicting will reach xxx,xxx is union.com. I can’t wait to see the final results.
