Initial Post :: Fka200.com

Well, I always knew I’d start a blog just to waste time while in class or when I’m just super bored. I’ve been doing the whole WWW thing for a while now (started in 1996, didn’t take anything seriously till 2006 though–yes, I know… stupid me).
For my “Initial Post,” I’d like to just make it nice and simple. What does FKA200 mean? I have no clue. Let me tell you the story of how I became to be Fka200 (Real name is Sammy Ashouri)….
It all started in about 1998 when I used to visit my cousin’s house. When there, I would always login to his AOL screen name and just sit and browse around and make new friends and what not (took advantage of AOL’s IM system back then!). When he started realizing random people were IMing him, he decided to give me one of his “other” accounts: Fka006. Now I kept the name Fka006 for about a year. I’d use it on and off, and I had no idea what it stood for. Finally I decided to get a new PC. I had one of those old ones back in ‘98 (I really think this was ‘96, but for the heck of it I’m going to say ‘98) where the screen was green and all you could play was pong or tetris. With my new Packard Bell, I decided it was time to open a new AOL account. I woke up at 7AM and my dad gave me his credit card. I sat there for 30 minutes trying to think of a screen name… and just couldn’t think of one. I knew in the back of my mind this might be my permanent online identity, so I wanted to make it good. Well my dad was outside honking telling me I was going to be late for school. I knew this might be my only chance since it took me 5 days to get my dad to budge on giving me his credit card (paranoia with using credit cards online). So, finally I was like screw it. FKA… and what numbers? While the honking became more annoying, 200 was finally decided one. CREATED. Then I ran out the door and the rest is history.
Basically on this blog I’m just going to talk about internet related junk. I’m fascinated by IDNs (International Domain Names), so expect to get reports on those very often. I want to keep my readers up to date with interesting domain sales and other information. Along with this random information, I want to possibly sneak in a couple ways on how to make revenue using the web. Well… time for you to bookmark the site and come back at a later time. 4:23AM and it’s time for Sam to get to bed (Don’t mind all the grammar errors in the post. To lazy to edit, I’m going to keep it as it is

LOL 2w I wish I could tell you. No idea! My cousin originally made it up, but I forgot what he said he was thinking of while he thought up FKA. 200 was just a random number I thought of back in ‘98.
